Background

The McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) is seeking to update its strategic plan, originally created in 2023, to guide its operations through 2029. This initiative aims to enhance the department's ability to deliver integrated health services and advocate for public health policies. Work Details

The selected consultant will be responsible for updating the strategic plan by conducting an environmental review that includes: assessing the current strategic direction, reviewing existing materials related to programs and stakeholder engagement, gathering and analyzing relevant data, conducting internal assessments and interviews with board members and staff, performing a SWOT analysis, and ensuring stakeholder engagement throughout the planning process. The final deliverable will be a robust three-year strategic plan that aligns with MCDH's mission and vision, which will be presented to the Board of Health in November 2026.

The contract will commence upon award in July 2026 and will conclude with the presentation of the updated strategic plan in November 2026.
