Background The City of Fargo is seeking qualified vendors to procure a 3D LiDAR based multimodal detection and analytics system. This system will be deployed at seven intersections on 52nd Avenue S in Fargo, including key intersections such as 45th Street S, 42nd Street S, and University Drive S. The goal is to enhance multimodal safety, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. Work Details The contract involves providing a comprehensive multimodal detection system that includes: - Vehicle, pedestrian, and bicyclist detection - Traffic actuation - Safety analytics - Real-time monitoring The system must utilize 3D digital LiDAR sensors with the following specifications: - Full 360° horizontal field of view and minimum 40° vertical field of view - Minimum detection radius of 60 m (~200 ft) for all road users - Reliable operation in adverse weather conditions - Ingress protection rating of at least IP68/IP69K. Additionally, the system must support customizable multimodal actuation based on various parameters and integrate seamlessly with existing traffic infrastructure. It should also include a secure web-based cloud analytics platform for real-time monitoring and historical data analysis.
