Summary (Newest Update)

Background The United States Forest Service is seeking quotes for a tree planting project at Double Creek within the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in Oregon. The agency's mission includes managing national forests and grasslands to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of these resources for the benefit of current and future generations. The goal of this contract is to perform hand tree planting and related work in compliance with specified terms and provisions. Work Details The contract requires hand tree planting and related work, which includes: furnishing labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals. All planting sites are located on the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest; specifically within the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area Ranger District along FS Road 4240-000 (Hat Point Road). Due to varying road conditions caused by snow and mud, four-wheel drive vehicles or tire chains are recommended. If road access is blocked due to weather events or other conditions, the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) may provide alternative routes or substitute suitable planting sites. Contractors must furnish GPS devices compatible with georeferenced maps provided by the government. Additionally, contractors are required to notify the government upon entering any subcontracting arrangements and pass down all contract clauses to subcontractors. Place of Performance The work will be performed at various sites along FS Road 4240-000 in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, Oregon.
