Background The Alexandria VA Health Care System (AVAHCS) is issuing this contract to replace and update the existing wayfinding and signage within a 5-story, 230,000 square foot hospital building located in Pineville, LA. The current signage is outdated and does not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant codes. The goal of this contract is to enhance navigation for patients, visitors, and staff through improved signage that meets current standards. Work Details The project involves comprehensive interior construction tasks including: - replacing outdated signage systems throughout the hospital; - improving internal wayfinding signage; - installing new signage for departments, room names, elevators, lobbies, stairways, corridors, exits, and amenity markers; - ensuring compliance with ADA/ABA codes for braille and color blindness; - installing emergency and life safety signs; - providing wall repairs as needed; - constructing temporary partitions to manage construction dust. The contractor must furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for these tasks.
