Background The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is seeking competitive sealed bids for lawn care and grounds maintenance services at the McLeansville Regional Readiness Center. The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish an Agency Contract that provides comprehensive lawn care services, including mowing, debris removal, pruning, seeding, mulching, leaf removal, and bush hogging. The facility is located at 4250 Camp Burton Rd., McLeansville, NC 27301, covering a total area of 68.17 acres with a designated lawn service area of 43.13 acres. Work Details The contractor will provide year-round lawn and grounds maintenance services which include: - Mowing to a height of 2-3 inches as determined by the facility point of contact (POC) - Edging - Trimming - Debris and leaf removal - Weed and grass control - Inspection of work sites for hazards - Removal of trash and debris from sidewalks and paved areas - Disposal of excess grass clippings - Pruning bushes/trees up to 10 feet high at least twice a year - Removal of trees up to 6 inches in diameter - Application of mulch around shrubbery once per year - Fertilization and seeding where necessary (maximum twice a year) - Maintaining clear zones around fences by removing weeds and debris - Obtaining necessary permits for pesticide use - Providing documentation for all pesticides/herbicides used. All work must comply with federal, state, and local laws. Period of Performance The contract will have an initial term of one year from the date of final contract execution, with options to renew for two additional one-year terms at the State's discretion. They are required to complete background checks on personnel at their expense prior to starting work. Vendors must also certify financial stability through Attachment G: Certification of Financial Condition and demonstrate compliance with HUB participation goals by completing Attachment D: HUB Supplemental Vendor Information.
