FY27 Water and Sewer Infrastructure Construction Contract 1

Background

Charlotte Water, based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking bids for the FY27 Water and Sewer Infrastructure Construction – Contract 1. The purpose of this contract is to address various water and sewer infrastructure needs including extensions, replacements, and improvements to ensure reliable service delivery. The projects will be assigned by the Project Engineer as needed.

Work Details

The contract encompasses an undetermined number of individual projects that include: - Water and sewer extensions - Water and sewer replacements - Low-pressure sanitary sewer installations - Improvements to water distribution system reliability - Sanitary sewer capacity assurance projects. Specific tasks may involve mobilization, excavation, installation of various types of pipes (including ductile iron and PVC), construction of manholes, installation of valves and hydrants, and restoration of disturbed areas. Detailed bid items include quantities for mobilization, rock excavation, asphalt pavement replacement, concrete work, backfill operations, erosion control measures, traffic control setups, and various types of piping installations.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is expected to commence upon award and will continue until all assigned projects are completed. Specific timelines for each project will be determined by the Project Engineer.

Place of Performance

The work will primarily take place within the city limits of Charlotte, NC.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with local regulations and demonstrate experience in similar infrastructure projects. The contract encourages participation from Minority/Women Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) with established goals set at 10% for MBE and 7% for WBE participation.
