Background The City of Fargo is seeking proposals for cleaning services at the Carlson Library, located at 2801 32nd Ave S, Fargo, ND 58103. The goal of this contract is to ensure the library is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition to support its operations and services to the community. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and will select vendors based on qualifications, cost, and references. Work Details The contractor shall perform comprehensive cleaning services including: - Daily tasks such as vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping hard surfaces, disinfecting sinks and drinking fountains, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting horizontal surfaces, and cleaning entryways. - Specific cleaning for lunch/break rooms including floors and exterior surfaces of appliances. - Restroom cleaning including toilets, mirrors, sinks, floors, and restocking supplies. - Weekly high dusting in all areas. - Bi-weekly edge-cleaning of carpets. - Monthly detailing of hard surface flooring edges and vacuuming furniture. - Quarterly cleaning of air vents and light fixtures. - Semi-annually shampooing carpets and maintaining hard surface flooring. - Yearly stripping and refinishing hard surface flooring as per manufacturer recommendations. - As needed tasks include cleaning chair mats, reporting maintenance issues, and ensuring security at the end of each shift. Period of Performance The contract will commence on March 1, 2026, and will last for three years until February 28, 2029. Place of Performance Carlson Library located at 2801 32nd Ave S, Fargo, ND 58103. Bidder Requirements Vendors must have maintained an office in the Fargo/Moorhead area for a minimum of five years. All staff must be fingerprinted and pass a background check; they must be direct employees of the custodial contractor with exceptions for professional carpet and window cleaning services which must be supervised by the contractor. Vendors are required to provide proof of insurance (Worker’s Compensation, General Liability) during the contract term.
