Background The County of Lexington and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are seeking competitive bids for the replacement of three (3) sally port doors at the Lexington County Detention Center (LCDC). The goal of this contract is to enhance security and operational efficiency at the facility by replacing aging infrastructure with modern, high-quality door systems. Work Details The Scope of Work includes: - Removal and replacement of three (3) complete rolling gates/operating assembly systems: 1. One (1) gate measuring 11’ 1” x 11’ 6” 2. One (1) gate measuring 9’ 2” x 11’ 3” 3. One (1) gate measuring 11’ 7” x 10’ 10” - Replacement gates must be Clopay Model C5015 with High Cycle Construction Upgrade to withstand up to 100,000 cycles and include a safety edge. - Replacement operating assemblies must be Cornell Cookson SGH Series 5011 E Logic Surface Mount, including an auxiliary chain. - The vendor is responsible for confirming all precise measurements during a mandatory pre-bid walkthrough. - Proposals must include all costs associated with ordering, fabricating, and installing fully operational gates as well as the removal of existing gates. - No substitutions are allowed; the department desires one vendor to complete the entire project. - The contractor must be fully bonded. Period of Performance The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe following the issuance of a purchase order. All work is to be finalized by March 2026. Place of Performance Lexington County Detention Center, located at 521 Gibson Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide a Proposal Bond with a surety company licensed in South Carolina for five percent (5%) of the total proposal amount. A Performance Bond is required if the bid exceeds $50,000, covering 100% of the contract amount. Bidders must also submit a Certificate of Familiarity, Certificate of Insurance that meets statutory requirements, and a Non-Collusion Affidavit. Subcontractors are not permitted for this solicitation.
