Background This solicitation is issued by the U.S. Army as a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products, specifically an All Terrain Extended Reach Forklift. The goal of this contract is to procure a forklift that meets specific operational requirements to support the Army's mission. The acquisition is set aside for small businesses, promoting competition and participation from smaller contractors. Work Details The contract requires the delivery of 1 each All Terrain Extended Reach Forklift with the following salient characteristics: - Engine: 3.8L CUMMINS engine - Cooling: Conventional coolant cooling system - Cylinders: At least 4-cylinder engine - Performance: Minimum of 110 Hp and 348 Ft. Lb. torque - Fuel: Diesel fuel - Transmission: Powershift with 4-speed forward and 3-speed reverse - Travel speed: Top speed of at least 19 mph - Drive system: 4-wheel drive - Axles: Trunnion mounted planetary steer axles with integral steer cylinder and limited slip differential on front axle - Tire size: Solid 14 x 24 - Service brake: Wet disc brakes for front and rear axles - Parking brake: Wet disc spring-applied hydraulic release on front axle - Steering: Turning radius no more than 12 ft., with selectable steering modes (4-wheel circle, crab, and 2-wheel front) - Hydraulic system: Minimum capacity of 40 gallons, load sense piston pump, max auxiliary flow to boom head of 25 gpm. Cab features include an enclosed cab with adjustable suspension seat, certified ROPS, horn, integrated arm rest, single joystick with tilt, LED motion beacon, air conditioning and heat, wiper package, LED work lights, full instrument package (DEF gauge, engine oil pressure gauge, fuel gauge, engine temp gauge, volt meter), road lights, ride control, back-up camera, operator and seatbelt sensor, load stability indication system, back-up alarm system. Chassis must include fenders and hydraulic couplers; rated capacity of 9000 lbs.; maximum lift height of 43 ft.; load at max height of 7000 lbs.; max forward reach of 30 ft.; load at max reach of 1200 lbs.; boom lift speed of 13 seconds; boom extend speed of 15 seconds; frame leveling capability of up to 10 degrees; carriage must have 72" forks with side shift and tilt; fuel capacity must be at least 38 gallons.
