The Contractor shall schedule and manage operations to maximize responsiveness, efficiency, and economy to the Fort G.G. Meade community. The Contractor shall provide L&DC services for which includes labor, supervision, vehicle transportation for pickup and delivery, facilities, equipment, supplies and material (unless designated as Government furnished within this contract) necessary for the performance for bulk and piece rate Customer support at Fort G. Meade. This contract includes functions, tasks and responsibilities normally inherent to a Laundry and Dry-Cleaning Facility. The Contractor shall receive, account for, process and return articles tendered for laundry.
Background The Army Sustainment Command (ASC) is responsible for providing contracted Laundry and Dry Cleaning (L&DC) services in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 210-130. These services are aimed at laundering and pressing fabrics, textiles, garments, linens, and specified Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE). The ASC has historically provided L&DC services on a direct funded basis at various installations both within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside of Continental United States (OCONUS). The mission of the Army’s Installations L&DC Program is to ensure the laundry and dry-cleaning of government-owned items while adhering to environmental regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and other applicable policies. Work Details The Contractor shall schedule and manage operations to maximize responsiveness, efficiency, and economy for the Fort Meade community. The Contractor is required to provide L&DC services which include: labor, supervision, vehicle transportation for pickup and delivery, facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for bulk and piece rate customer support at Fort Meade. Key tasks include: operating and managing Laundry Distribution and Collection Point(s) for linen exchange; maintaining an accountability system for linens; providing laundry services to authorized government customers; coordinating alternate service days in case of holidays or emergencies; ensuring contractor personnel maintain a clean appearance in accordance with dress codes; complying with Federal, State, Local health regulations; performing laundering processes that meet or exceed industry standards including washing, drying, packaging, dry-cleaning services as outlined in Attachment 6; and maintaining the Post Laundry Program as the Army’s system of record for laundry services.
