The Contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to maintain and provide preventive maintenance for Incucyte SX5 serial # IC70655. The NCI studies the cellular response to DNA damage in order to identify novel targets, as well as targetable synthetic lethal interactions, to augment cancer therapies, including radio and chemotherapy. The characterization and validation of these targets requires the detailed analysis of the response of many cell lines to a wide combination of drug treatments and genetic modifications. The IncuCyte SX5 system allows this to be done in an efficient and high throughput manner, requiring less hands-on time from investigators, and on a smaller scale, thus reducing costs due to the requirement for fewer consumable reagents. In addition, the IncuCyte SX5 system collects data in an automated, real-time fashion, so that multiple investigators from different labs can perform experiments in parallel, and it allows data collection over weekends and holidays, maximizing the data output of the experiments. The system is used frequently to collect real time data about the timing and mode of cancer cell death in response to a variety of experimental treatments, to measure cell proliferation, to measure the presentation and recruitment of immune modulating surface markers (ex. PD-L1) and to measure cell migration and invasion. Given the near constant use in a humidified environment, the system requires preventitive maintenance and frequent adjustments to avoid costly repairs and downtime. All maintenance services shall be performed on-site in accordance with the manufacturer's standard commercial maintenance practices.
Background The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is seeking a contractor to provide maintenance services for the Incucyte SX5 system, which is essential for studying cellular responses to DNA damage and identifying novel cancer therapy targets. The system enhances efficiency and reduces costs by allowing high-throughput data collection with minimal investigator hands-on time. Given its frequent use in a humidified environment, regular preventive maintenance is crucial to avoid costly repairs and downtime. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the preventive maintenance of the Incucyte SX5 serial # IC70655. Maintenance services must be performed on-site in accordance with the manufacturer's standard commercial maintenance practices. The tasks include: - Regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functioning of the equipment. - Adjustments as necessary to maintain performance standards. - Addressing any issues that may arise during operation to prevent costly repairs and downtime. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the contract will be performed (if provided) Place of Performance All maintenance services will be performed on-site at the NCI facilities. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate experience with similar laboratory equipment maintenance, possess relevant professional licenses or certifications, and have qualified personnel available for on-site service. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) The prior award 75N98026P00234 was awarded to Sartorius Corporation for maintenance and repair support covering IncuCyte instruments, including an IncuCyte SX5 CO2 incubator (serial IC70351) under a period of performance from 06/01/26–05/31/27, with a total value of $38,485. The current opportunity similarly requires on-site preventive maintenance for an IncuCyte SX5 system (serial IC70655) in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard commercial maintenance practices. Because both efforts focus on maintaining the same model of Sartorius IncuCyte SX5 CO2 imaging/incubation equipment, the work appears to be a continuation of ongoing instrument support for the same type of laboratory system.
