Flood Elevation 201 State Street

Background

The City of Montpelier, Vermont, is seeking proposals for a construction project aimed at elevating an existing building located at 201 State Street. This initiative is part of the city's efforts to enhance infrastructure resilience against flooding. The project involves detailed construction work as outlined in the drawings provided by Stevens and Associates Architects and DeWolfe Engineering.

Work Details

The contractor shall furnish all materials, tools, and labor to complete the following work: 1. Jacking the existing building and lowering it onto a new foundation; 2. Demolition and disposal of the existing foundation; 3. Excavation for the new foundation, including ledge removal as noted on the drawings; 4. Installation of new footings, concrete walls, piers, and steel beams as shown on the drawings; 5. Foundation coating and insulation; 6. Backfill, grading, and site work as shown on the drawings; 7. Installation of a new basement slab; 8. Coordination with carpentry, plumbing, heating, and electrical contractors who will be retained under a separate RFP.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed within ten (10) days after execution of the Agreement by the City. Contractors must specify their completion date in their proposal.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at 201 State Street, Montpelier, Vermont.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must provide certificates for Workers Compensation, Automobile Liability, Public Liability, and Property Damage insurance before commencing work. The City of Montpelier must be listed as a certificate holder and endorsed as an additional insured under these policies. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a W-9 form before starting work.
