Background

The University of Missouri–Columbia operates a large and varied campus that includes approximately 167 buildings of academic, research, administrative, and residential space. These facilities house a wide range of fire alarm technologies, from older legacy systems to modern, addressable platforms. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety needs of a constantly occupied campus through the maintenance and inspection of fire alarm systems across all buildings.

Work Details

The contractor shall perform annual inspections and testing of the University of Missouri–Columbia’s fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 (2019), Chapter 14. This includes inspecting and function-testing all major system elements such as: - Fire alarm control panels - Manual pull stations - Smoke and heat detectors - Duct detectors - Supervisory devices - Waterflow switches - Notification appliances (horns, strobes, speakers) - Related circuits Upon completion of each building's inspection, the contractor must deliver NFPA 72-compliant reports documenting results and deficiencies. All inspection staff must be NICET level 2 certified. Testing equipment must be UL listed and calibrated within one year prior to use.

Period of Performance

The contract period shall be from the date of award for three years with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed across approximately 167 buildings on the University of Missouri–Columbia campus.

Bidder Requirements

Respondents must confirm that all ITM staff are NICET Level II certified in Fire Alarm Systems. All testing equipment used must have current calibration certificates dated within one year of use. The contractor must comply with all scheduling restrictions set by the University regarding work hours in academic and residential buildings.
