Summary: Background The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order to Chesapeake Mission Critical LLC for the maintenance of Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems. The NIH's National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) occupies space in building 6710B, which houses approximately 400 staff members. The goal of this contract is to ensure the reliable operation of UPS systems that provide critical backup power, thereby enhancing physical security and protecting staff. Work Details The maintenance contract will involve servicing the UPS systems located on each floor of building 6710B. Key tasks include conducting battery checks and inspections, which are crucial due to past incidents where batteries nearing end-of-life began venting, creating a hazardous environment with strong sulfuric odors.
