Fire Alarm Monitoring

Background

The University of Missouri is seeking proposals for the furnishing and delivery of fire alarm monitoring services. The university maintains over 120 buildings equipped with various fire alarm control panels that transmit alarm signals to a central supervising station. This contract aims to ensure compliance with NFPA 72 and applicable local and state requirements, enhancing the safety and reliability of fire alarm systems across its campuses.

Work Details

The selected vendor will provide continuous monitoring services for the university's fire alarm panels, including: 1. Monitoring all alarm, supervisory, and trouble signals in compliance with NFPA 72. 2. Retransmitting received signals to appropriate agencies upon receipt of an alarm or trouble signal. 3. Ensuring dual-path communication through IP data ports and cellular communicators. 4. A one-time cost for reprogramming all communication devices to redirect signals to the vendor's supervising central station, completed within three months of contract award. 5. Monthly unit pricing for monitoring services applicable to additional facilities as they are added to the contract.

Period of Performance

The contract period will be three years from the date of award, with options to renew for two additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations across the University of Missouri campuses, including Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla, and St. Louis.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate compliance with NFPA 72 and UL 827 standards for central station monitoring. They must hold necessary state licenses and certifications, maintain a minimum staffing level of certified operators at all times, and have at least three years of experience providing similar services to large public-sector entities or higher education institutions.
