Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking Customs Brokerage and transportation services for the VA Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Pharmacy Coordinating Center (CSPCRPCC) located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The goal of this contract is to facilitate the import of pharmaceutical products necessary for clinical trials, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Work Details The contractor shall provide Customs Brokerage and transport services including: acting as a liaison between the CSPCRPCC, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA); handling shipments that may include controlled substances; maintaining a continuous bond throughout the contract period; providing import and transportation services from the United States port of entry to CSPCRPCC; performing clearance and handling services for multiple imports; insuring freight during transit; providing a centralized point of contact for shipment details; and ensuring compliance with US Government guidance related to imports. Special handling requirements such as temperature controls must be met for certain pharmaceutical products. Period of Performance The contract will have a base period of one year with up to four option years available. Place of Performance Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bidder Requirements This is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. Bidders must be verified with the SBA. Vendors must be certified to handle Schedule I-V controlled substances.
