Summary: Background The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director, Office of Acquisitions, intends to negotiate and award a firm fixed-price contract on a non-competitive basis to Becton, Dickinson, and Company for the service and maintenance of the BD Fortessa Flow Cytomery. This equipment is critical for analyzing experimental data related to innate and adaptive immune system function in health and disease, contributing to research on immunoregulation by chemokines and its impact on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and antibiotic resistance studies. Work Details The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the tasks outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW), which includes: 1. Emergency repair service, labor, travel, and replacement parts (excluding consumable items) for the BD Fortessa Flow Cytomery. 2. One planned maintenance inspection per service period. 3. Access to proprietary parts and test instrumentation for effective repairs. 4. Technical performance requirements include coverage by OEM factory-trained technicians. 5. Written progress reports during the period of performance detailing service completion and technical progress. Period of Performance 07/10/2026 to 07/09/2027 Place of Performance NIH/NIAID, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bldg 10, Bethesda MD 20892-0001 Bidder Requirements The contractor must have access to proprietary parts and diagnostic software certified by the OEM. Technicians must be factory-trained and authorized by the OEM to perform repairs on the equipment. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent and/or closely related prior contract, as NIH previously awarded a service contract for the BD Fortessa Flow Cytomery (LSR Fortessa SORP, no lasers) under contract 75N98026P00030 to Dickinson and Company Becton for $111,492 (03/17/26–03/16/29). The prior award description indicates service coverage for the same Fortessa equipment (matching “LSR Fortessa” and the specified serial number), and the current requirement similarly calls for emergency repair, planned maintenance inspection, and access to OEM parts/test instrumentation.
