UMKC Garage Street Sweeping & Power Washing

Background

The University of Missouri, specifically UMKC Parking Operations, is seeking bids for the provision of street sweeping and power washing services for five parking garages on the Kansas City campus. This initiative aims to ensure consistent maintenance, improve safety and appearance, and extend the life of the parking structures. Historically, these services were performed internally but have not been consistently executed since 2019 due to funding limitations.

Work Details

The contract requires qualified suppliers to provide cleaning services for five parking structures located at UMKC. The specific services include:

Street Sweeping

Conducted twice annually in January and August.

Power Washing

Conducted once annually following the August sweeping. The objective is to maintain cleanliness, remove debris and contaminants, improve safety conditions, and preserve the structural integrity and appearance of the parking facilities. The vendor must provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and transportation necessary to perform these services. They must also capture, contain, and properly dispose of all debris and wastewater in compliance with environmental regulations. Additionally, the vendor is responsible for reporting any observed structural deterioration during service performance.

Period of Performance

The contract period shall be from the date of award for three (3) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at five parking garages across the UMKC campus: - Rockhill Parking Structure (5 levels) - Cherry Street Parking Structure (6.5 levels) - Hospital Hill Parking Structure (6.5 levels) - Hospital Hill Apartment Garage (3 levels) - 5050 Oak Street Garage (1 level)

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must provide proof of experience with parking garage sweeping and/or power washing services along with a minimum of three references for similar work. They must also comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety and environmental standards.
