Background The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking qualified sources to provide a new, fully operational research vessel and trailer for use in Yellowstone National Park. The goal is to enhance research operations on Yellowstone Lake with a custom-built vessel that meets specific performance and safety standards. This request for information (RFI) is intended for market research purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. Work Details The contractor shall provide one (1) new custom research work boat, commercial-grade, mono-hull aluminum, approximately 34 feet LOA (±2 ft), with heavy-duty marine aluminum construction and a model year of 2025 or newer. Key specifications include: - Aluminum welded hull (5086-H116 / 5052-H32) - Twin 250 HP 4-stroke outboards - 250-gallon fuel capacity - Enclosed work cabin and deckhouse - Required outfitting: gill-net lifter, hydraulic power pack, navigation components, DC electrical system, bilge system, safety equipment, and NPS-provided radio and decals. Additionally, the contractor must provide a fully welded, one-piece, hot-dip galvanized boat trailer with the following minimum specifications: - Triple-axle design with aluminum diamond-plate fenders - Goose-neck configuration - Bearing Buddy system on all axles - 17,200 lb. galvanized load capacity - DOT-approved sealed marine-grade LED lighting package - Electric-over-hydraulic braking system. All construction must meet or exceed applicable ABYC and ABS standards for commercial aluminum vessels. Period of Performance Delivery of the completed vessel and trailer must occur no later than 12 months from the date of award. Bidder Requirements Bidders must confirm they can provide a new vessel that has zero use (supported by zero engine hours), all OEM components, has never been previously titled or owned, and has not been placed into service. Bidders should also provide a capability statement confirming their ability to meet or exceed the requirements.
