Background

The City of North Ridgeville is seeking a consultant to provide Construction Inspection and Construction Administration services for the replacement of the existing signalized intersection of State Route 83 and Chestnut Ridge with a modern roundabout. The project aims to improve traffic flow and safety at this intersection, which is part of a larger infrastructure enhancement initiative. The estimated construction cost is $2,030,000.00.

Work Details

The consultant will be responsible for providing construction inspection and administration services, which include: - Replacement of existing pavement with full depth asphalt pavement and concrete curb. - Watermain replacement, storm sewer extensions, underdrains, highway lighting installation, traffic control measures, and adjusting structures as necessary. - The project requires personnel who meet specific ODOT prequalification categories including Project Inspector 1, Traffic Signals & Lighting Inspector, Soils & Aggregate Inspector, and Construction Engineer Level 2. - The consultant must ensure compliance with ODOT’s Construction Administration Manual of Procedures and other relevant specifications.

Period of Performance

The estimated award date for the contract is June 29, 2026, with construction expected to begin on July 13, 2026, and completion anticipated by November 30, 2026.

The work will be performed at the intersection of State Route 83 and Chestnut Ridge Road in North Ridgeville, Ohio.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must be prequalified in relevant categories by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Only individuals (not firms) are eligible for construction inspection activities. Additionally, firms included on the current Federal list of suspended or debarred firms are not eligible for selection.
