Background

The City of Cincinnati, through its Office of Procurement, is issuing this Invitation to Bid for the replacement of glass grit discharge piping at the Mill Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The project aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the wastewater treatment process by replacing outdated piping systems. Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for removing approximately 700 feet of existing 4-inch glass-lined grit discharge and drain pipes, along with fittings, and replacing them with new city-furnished glass-lined pipes and fittings. Specific tasks include: - Removal of existing piping and installation of new glass-lined pipe sections using Victaulic couplings, hanger supports, and expansion joints as necessary. - The contractor must cut city-furnished plain-end pipes to fit the couplings and purchase new Victaulic couplings (Style #31 or #341) and stainless steel bolts. - Installation must conform to specified sections regarding pipe supports, painting, pressure testing, and leak testing. - All work must comply with applicable codes and specifications outlined in the contract documents.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to commence within five calendar days following the issuance of a Notice to Proceed from MSDGC. Substantial completion is required within 90 calendar days from the commencement date, with final completion within 120 calendar days thereafter.

The work will be performed at the Mill Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a bid bond or certified check amounting to at least 10% of the total bid as a guarantee for contract execution upon acceptance.
