Lake Alva Campground Improvements

Summary: Background The Lolo National Forest, managed by the USDA Forest Service, is seeking improvements to the Lake Alva Campground located approximately 60 miles north of Missoula, MT along highway 83. The goal of this contract is to enhance the campground facilities by replacing the existing water and electrical systems and repaving sections of the campground road. The project magnitude is estimated to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for replacing all water system components in the well pumphouse, which includes new pressure tanks, flow meters, pressure relief valves, and all necessary appurtenances. Additionally, a new 2" HDPE water main will be installed throughout the campground while abandoning the existing water main in place. Electrical upgrades will also be performed throughout the campground involving demolition of existing equipment, installation of new grounding equipment, low-voltage power conductors and cables, cable conduits, box connectors, couplers, new power outlet pedestals, and circuit breakers. Option Item #1 includes repaving sections of the asphalt road within the campground, patching areas where the new water main intersects with the road, and replacing some existing wheel stops in designated parking areas. Period of Performance The contract work is expected to commence on July 1, 2026, and will continue until December 1, 2027.
