As Needed Hot Mix Asphalt - Federally Funded

Background

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Division of Program Management and Administration, is soliciting bids for As Needed Hot Mix Asphalt. This contract is federally funded and aims to provide necessary asphalt for road maintenance and construction in Alaska.

Work Details

The contractor will supply Type 3 hot mix asphalt on an as-needed basis. The asphalt must be available for pickup at the contractor's facility Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The pickup locations are as follows:

Lot 1

within 100 miles of Nelchina, Alaska DOT Station for use in the Tazlina area;

Lot 2

within 50 miles of Valdez, Alaska for use in the Valdez area. The State will provide a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours’ notice prior to each pickup. The hot mix must be mixed with PG 52-28 oil and must meet specifications of plus or minus 10 percent type 3.

Period of Performance

The initial term of the contract will be from the date of award through June 30, 2027, with options to renew for four additional one-year terms at the discretion of the State.

Place of Performance

Work will be performed within 100 miles of Nelchina and within 50 miles of Valdez, Alaska.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold a valid Alaska business license prior to the award of any contract resulting from this ITB. They must provide evidence of their business license with their bid submission. Additionally, bidders must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including insurance requirements such as Workers' Compensation Insurance and Commercial General Liability Insurance with minimum coverage limits.
