Annual Hauling

Background

Fayette County, Georgia is seeking quotes for tandem axle dump truck hauling services to support the Public Works Department in the construction and maintenance of county roads. The goal of this contract is to provide reliable hauling services for materials such as asphalt, stone, graded aggregate base, and soil. The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and will run through June 30, 2027, with options for two additional one-year renewals.

Work Details

The contractor will provide a minimum of six tandem axle dump trucks capable of legally hauling at least 16 tons. Trucks must comply with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) asphalt hauling requirements including insulated bodies and full-cover tarps. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that trucks are in good working condition and can pass state inspections. Drivers must be able to follow instructions and efficiently operate the trucks during hauling operations. The County guarantees a minimum of five hours of hauling per day when work has commenced. Any accidents or incidents involving the trucks will be the responsibility of the contractor.

Period of Performance

The contract term begins on July 1, 2026, and continues until June 30, 2027, with the possibility of two additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed within Fayette County and may extend to surrounding counties including Clayton, Coweta, Henry, South Fulton, and Spalding.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a Contractor Affidavit under O.C.G.A. § 13-10-91(b)(1) verifying compliance with federal work authorization programs. Additionally, bidders must have minimum insurance coverage including general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and automobile liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence.
