Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration, is responsible for honoring Veterans with a final resting place and lasting memorials that commemorate their service. The Santa Fe National Cemetery, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is one of approximately 155 National Cemeteries across the United States that receive visitors and conduct ceremonies. The cemetery has historical significance dating back to the establishment of a settlement in Santa Fe before the Pilgrims arrived in Plymouth Colony. It became a national cemetery after being designated for the reinterment of Union soldiers post-Civil War. The objective of this contract is to maintain the cemetery's grounds with care, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing landscape and honoring those who served. Work Details The contractor shall provide all personnel, materials, equipment (excluding select Government Provided Equipment), and maintenance necessary for grounds maintenance services at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Specific tasks include: 1. Interment and Disinterment Services: Preparation and excavation of graves, interments, memorial service set-up/take-down, backfill of graves, headstone setting, turf repair. 2. Headstone Services: Installation and maintenance of headstones. 3. Gravesite Maintenance: Upkeep of burial sections. 4. Turf & Grasses Maintenance: Care for turf areas to maintain health and appearance. 5. Tree, Shrub & Planting Bed Maintenance: Care for trees and shrubs including pruning and pest management. 6. Irrigation System Services: Management of irrigation systems to ensure proper water application. 7. Drainage System Maintenance: Ensure drainage systems are clear and functioning properly. 8. Trash & Debris Removal: Regular removal of trash and debris from cemetery grounds. 9. Pavement Sweeping & Cleaning: Maintenance of paved areas to prevent dirt build-up. 10. Ice Prevention / Snow Removal: Seasonal maintenance to ensure safety during winter months. 11. Structure Cleaning & Light Maintenance: Upkeep of cemetery structures such as monuments. 12.
