Annual Contract for Aggregate Road Surface Treatment

Background

Tarrant County is seeking bids to establish an annual contract for the purchase and delivery of aggregate road surface treatment requested on an as-needed basis. The items are used for road construction and/or drainage. Tarrant County reserves the right to go out for bid for any individual projects that exceed $50,000.00.

Work Details

The contract involves the purchase and delivery of various aggregate materials including cover stone, gabion stone, pea gravel, riprap, rock, and sand. All items must meet current TXDOT specifications and standards. Bidders must provide prices per ton for the products and include all fees such as fuel surcharges and demurrage charges. The quantities are estimates, and Tarrant County may order more or less during the term of this agreement. Testing may be conducted by an independent laboratory at Tarrant County's request, with costs covered by the vendor if materials do not meet specifications.

Period of Performance

The contract will begin on October 1, 2026, with orders placed on an as-needed basis throughout the year.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed within Tarrant County.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with insurance requirements including Workers' Compensation/Employer’s Liability, Commercial General Liability, and Auto Liability. They must also provide proof of insurance prior to work commencing. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a Certificate of Interested Parties (Form 1295) within ten business days from notification of pending award.
