Configuration of Test Environment for IT Dept

Background

The Kodiak Island Borough IT Department is seeking quotes for the configuration and validation of a Proxmox VE system. The goal of this contract is to assist with the integration and training related to an existing four-node Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE) cluster, which is essential for the Borough's IT operations.

Work Details

The selected remote IT consultant will be responsible for: 1. Integrating the fourth node into the existing Proxmox VE cluster. 2. Completing all remaining configuration work as specified in the project documentation. 3. Providing staff training for up to 8 hours, including documentation and recordings. 4. Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local codes, ordinances, and regulations throughout the project. Specific tasks include: - Validation of fourth node integration - Configuration of enterprise shared storage (Ceph, ZFS, NFS, or iSCSI) - VLAN configuration for management, VM, storage, and backup networks - High Availability (HA) setup and failover testing - Veeam backup integration and restore testing - Email notifications and monitoring configuration - VMware-to-Proxmox migration testing and cutover planning - Security hardening (RBAC, 2FA, firewall, SSL/TLS) - As-built documentation and runbooks.

Period of Performance

The work shall be completed no later than June 27, 2026. Invoices must be submitted weekly for work completed during that week.

Place of Performance

All work will be performed remotely via secure VPN access provided by the Kodiak Island Borough.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must maintain a primary business location in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, or California. They are required to provide two professional references demonstrating relevant Proxmox VE or enterprise virtualization experience.
