Background

The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, HQ State Equipment Fleet, is soliciting bids for Mechanic Truck Bodies. This contract aims to procure new mechanic truck bodies to support the operational needs of the State of Alaska. The successful bidder will provide equipment that meets specific requirements for functionality and reliability.

Work Details

The contract includes the purchase of three Mechanic Truck Bodies, specifically a new 11’ steel mechanics body with crane and compressor installed on a Ford Crew Cab chassis (19,000 lb. GVWR). The specifications include: - Body construction with torsion box understructure using minimum 14 gauge galvanneal steel. - Floor constructed from minimum 12 gauge steel with treadplate pattern. - Crane must be hydraulic with a minimum rated capacity of 5,000 lbs and a reach of at least 21 feet. - Compressor output must be a minimum of 40 CFM @ 100 psi with a 100% duty cycle. - Delivery must include comprehensive documentation such as build sheets and service manuals. - Warranty coverage includes full parts and labor for one year from the date placed in service.

Period of Performance

The contract is for a one-time purchase with delivery required within a maximum of 280 days after receipt of order (ARO).

Place of Performance

Delivery location is Anchorage, Alaska, with warranty services available in Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold a valid Alaska business license at the time designated for bid opening. They must comply with all applicable federal, state, and borough regulations. Bidders are required to provide evidence of authorized warranty dealers and certified personnel for warranty servicing. Additionally, bidders must adhere to insurance requirements including workers' compensation and general liability coverage.
