Background

The Department of Accounting and General Services is issuing a solicitation for the Kawailoa Youth and Family Wellness Center to replace the emergency generator and make related improvements. This project aims to enhance the facility's operational reliability by upgrading critical power systems.

Work Details

The work includes: - Removal of the existing standby generator, base fuel tank, automatic transfer switch, exhaust piping, exhaust fan and ductwork, and louvers; - Selective demolition of concrete floor slab, concrete walls, and CMU walls; - Installation of a new standby generator and base diesel fuel tank; - Remote fuel fill station with associated piping; - Generator exhaust piping; - Automatic transfer/bypass-isolation switch; - Doors and door hardware; - Duct silencers; - Acoustical insulation; - Relocation of dry-type transformer; - Concrete wall infill; - Soffit repair; - Concrete pad extension; - Lead paint control measures and monitoring; - Junction boxes, conduits, wiring; - Temporary generator with associated temporary electrical distribution system; - Patching and refinishing of building surfaces. All improvements must be completed as indicated on the drawings.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is expected to commence upon award and is anticipated to be completed by July 2, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Kawailoa Youth and Family Wellness Center located in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawai'i Contractor's license classification. The estimated value of the public works contract is $250,000 or more. An apprenticeship agreement preference applies as per Hawaii Revised Statutes §103-55.6.
