Background

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department is seeking a qualified contractor to demolish three farm structures located at the Intervale Wildlife Management Area in Colchester, VT. The goal of this contract is to safely remove the buildings and restore the site for future use, aligning with the department's mission to manage and protect Vermont's fish and wildlife resources.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition of three buildings: two pole barns (one measuring approximately 80 feet by 24 feet and the other 60 feet by 40 feet) and one workshop (approximately 30 feet by 20 feet). The contractor must also remove all associated debris, including hazardous materials such as fuel canisters, paint cans, and waste oil. After demolition, the contractor will smooth the disturbed ground and seed it with a conservation mix approved by the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. Additionally, a 500-foot section of road connecting the buildings must be seeded, large boulders placed on either side of this road to deter ATV use, and crushed stone laid in a designated parking area measuring approximately 20 feet by 40 feet to a depth of 3 inches. The access road leading to the site must also be graded for safe vehicle access.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence after September 1, 2026, and must be completed by November 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will take place at the Intervale Wildlife Management Area in Colchester, Vermont.
