Troup Co Fire Department Burn Building

Background

The Troup County Board of Commissioners is seeking proposals for the construction of a Fire Department Burn Building located at 2495 Hamilton Road, LaGrange, Georgia. The goal of this contract is to provide a facility that meets the training needs of the fire department while adhering to safety and building codes.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Provide and install all necessary materials, supplies, labor, equipment, and machinery for the construction project. 2. Submit a detailed project proposal including construction drawings, specifications, and schedule. 3. Install five Conex containers, with two rated for NFPA 1403 Live fire Burns. 4. Paint containers and connect new containers to the existing structure through the old burn room. 5. Install three steel doors and five steel windows with specified dimensions and materials. 6. Construct an exterior steel staircase with handrail and a smoke pot piped to the second floor. 7. Create a survival breach wall on the first floor and install safety railings and decking as required. 8. Sand and paint the existing burn building to match new structures. 9. Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations.

Period of Performance

The anticipated start date for construction is on or about July 20, 2026, with a requirement for substantial completion within ninety (90) consecutive calendar days.

The contract will be performed at 2495 Hamilton Road, LaGrange, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be properly licensed and insured in the State of Georgia. A bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount is required along with performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price from the successful bidder. The contractor must provide comprehensive liability insurance naming Troup County as co-insured and must submit a vendor application, e-verify form, and W-9 prior to beginning work.
