Background The Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Montana State Office, is soliciting quotes for custodial services to maintain six vault latrines located at high-use recreation sites during the peak field season. This initiative supports the Trump Administration’s commitment to expanding outdoor recreation access, improving public health, and reducing deferred maintenance on federal lands. The project is part of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA), which established the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund to address critical deferred maintenance needs across federally managed lands. Clean, safe, and accessible restroom facilities are essential for ensuring a positive visitor experience and protecting natural resources from human waste impacts. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary management, labor, tools, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to ensure regular and thorough cleaning and maintenance of the vault latrines at the following locations: - Two at Sundance Lodge Recreation Area - One at Four Dances Natural Area - One at Acton Recreation Area - Two at Shepherd Ah Nei Recreation Sites (OHV and Horse Area). The services include but are not limited to: regular cleaning of latrine facilities; ensuring sanitary conditions; managing waste disposal; maintaining cleanliness in high-use areas; and adhering to environmental protection standards. Period of Performance The contract period of performance is from June 15, 2026, to March 31, 2030. This includes a base period from June 15, 2026, to March 31, 2028, followed by two option periods: Option Period 1 from April 1, 2028, to March 31, 2029; and Option Period 2 from April 1, 2029, to March 31, 2030. Place of Performance The geographic location for the performance of this contract is within Yellowstone County, Montana.
