Background

The Town of Hope Mills is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide professional engineering services for the Bretton Woods Drive Resurfacing Project. The project aims to enhance roadway conditions and associated infrastructure improvements, aligning with the town's commitment to maintaining public works and ensuring safe transportation.

Work Details

The selected firm will provide a range of services including:

Survey and Data Collection

Field verification of roadway conditions, limited topographic survey as needed, utility identification and coordination. - Design & Plan Preparation: Development of milling and resurfacing plans, base repair details, pavement marking plans, and minor drainage improvements.

Bidding and Procurement Support

Preparation of bid documents and specifications, assistance with advertisement and pre-bid meetings, bid tabulation, and recommendation of award.

Construction Administration

Review of shop drawings, responses to RFIs (Requests for Information), periodic site visits, materials testing, pay application review, final inspection, and punch list preparation. The project encompasses approximately 2220 linear feet of roadway that is 26 feet wide from back of curb to back of curb. Services will include asphalt resurfacing (mill and overlay), full-depth reclamation (FDR), base repairs and patching, minor drainage improvements as needed, and pavement marking and striping.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be completed by May 13, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Hope Mills, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements

Firms must demonstrate relevant experience with similar paving/resurfacing projects. They are required to submit a firm overview including company background, office locations, years in business; details on key personnel; an understanding of municipal paving programs; quality control procedures; and references from at least three municipal clients. The selected firm must maintain appropriate insurance coverage including general liability of $1 million and statutory workers' compensation.
