Madison Road Crossing Gates Replacement

Background

The City of Cincinnati is issuing a contract for the replacement of four existing railroad-type crossing gates and flashers located on Madison Road. These gates were originally installed in 2007 as part of a flood control project. The goal of this contract is to maintain safety and functionality in the area affected by the Duck Creek Local Flood Projection Project Channel. The work will be overseen by the Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) and its Stormwater Management Utility (SMU).

Work Details

The contractor will remove and dispose of the existing Safetran Crossing Gate Model S-40 gates and install new crossing gates at the same locations, utilizing existing foundations, power, and controls. The project includes maintaining traffic on Madison Road during construction and may involve staging vehicles and equipment on City-owned property. The contractor must ensure that all work complies with detailed specifications provided in the bid documents.

Period of Performance

The contractor shall complete all work within 180 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed on Madison Road, east and west of the Duck Creek Local Flood Projection Project Channel in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with Cincinnati Municipal Code Chapters 323 (Small Business Enterprise Program) and 324 (Minority & Women Business Enterprise Program). There are no subcontracting goals assigned to this project, but bidders are encouraged to maximize participation from qualified segments of the business community. Bidders must also be registered under Vendor Self Service (VSS) at the time of award and must verify that any SBE or M/WBE used is certified by bid closing.
