FY26 King Air 350 Maintenance Course

Background

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide maintenance training for the King Air 350 aircraft and King Air 350 Engine Run and Taxi training. This training is mandated by the IDOT Division of Aeronautics and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved Repair Station Manual. The goal is to ensure that maintenance personnel are properly trained to authorize return-to-service and perform all maintenance safely and correctly.

Work Details

The vendor shall provide the following maintenance training courses for the Beech King Air 350: 1. **King Air 350 Initial Maintenance Training**: Comprehensive training covering aircraft systems, components, inspection procedures, and standard maintenance practices required for safe and compliant operation. 2. **King Air 350 Engine Run and Taxi Training**: Training focused on proper procedures for engine operation, ground handling, taxi operations, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance. Training shall include classroom and/or practical instruction as appropriate and result in documentation or certification of completion. The vendor must provide factory-authorized training utilizing instructors certified by the aircraft manufacturer or an approved training provider. All training must comply with applicable FAA regulations and standards.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over a two-year period with specific classes scheduled at the convenience of the Agency.

Place of Performance

Training will be conducted at locations designated by IDOT within Illinois.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must meet several mandatory requirements including: providing factory-authorized training for the Beech King Air 350 aircraft, utilizing certified instructors, demonstrating experience in delivering similar aircraft maintenance training, providing course outlines, duration, completion/certification details, proof of factory authorization, and offering scheduling flexibility. Vendors must also comply with Standard Illinois Certifications throughout the term of the contract.
