Leavells Road 24-Inch Water Main Improvements

Background

The County of Spotsylvania, Virginia is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide construction services related to the Leavells Road 24-Inch Water Main Improvements. The project aims to enhance the water infrastructure along Leavells Road, which is crucial for the community's water supply and management. This initiative aligns with the county's mission to ensure reliable public utilities and improve community services.

Work Details

The project consists of furnishing and installing approximately 9,464 linear feet of 24-inch diameter water line, 2,130 linear feet of 8-inch service line, residential and existing waterline connections, and all necessary appurtenances on Leavells Road between Courthouse Road and a point near Tipperary Trail along the frontage of parcel TM 34G-14-445 in Spotsylvania County, VA. The work will be conducted on County-owned property, public streets, easements, and/or other rights of way as shown in the plans.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over a specified period starting from the Notice to Proceed until final completion as determined by the Owner. The exact duration will be outlined in the contract documents following bid acceptance.

The work will be performed along Leavells Road in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed contractors in Virginia with appropriate classifications based on bid amounts: - Class A for bids over $120,000; - Class B for bids between $7,500 and $120,000; - Class C for bids between $1,000 and $7,500. Bidders must also provide proof of registration with the State Corporation Commission (SCC) if required. Additionally, each bid over $200,000 must include a bid security of at least five percent (5%) in the form of a Letter of Credit or a certified check.
