Background

The California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority (CALCTRA) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. S03412555 for Blade Sharpening Services. The purpose of this contract is to provide blade sharpening services for the Printing Enterprise located at the California Men’s Colony (CMC) in San Luis Obispo, California. This initiative aligns with CALCTRA's mission to enhance operational efficiency within its facilities.

Work Details

The contractor will provide paper cutter blade sharpening services, which includes all necessary labor, materials, non-consumable supplies, transportation, and equipment. The services must be performed at the contractor's facility. The cost for shipping blades from the contractor is included in the sharpening fee. Services must commence as per the agreed timeline set by CALCTRA after all approvals are obtained and a Sage X3 Tracking Number is issued. If the contractor fails to start work on time, CALCTRA reserves the right to terminate the agreement and seek damages for any additional costs incurred due to hiring another contractor.

Period of Performance

The anticipated contract term is two (2) years with an option to extend for an additional one (1) year.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at the contractor's facility, with blades being shipped from California Men’s Colony located at Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo, California.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing similar services and must submit documentation of past performance on three (3) similar projects within the last three years. Bidders are required to maintain all necessary licenses and permits throughout the contract duration. Additionally, bidders must comply with Executive Order N-6-22 regarding economic sanctions against Russia and Executive Order N-12-23 concerning Generative Artificial Intelligence technology.
