Background

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking bids for janitorial services to be performed at the VDOT Interstate Maintenance Trailer located at 10267 Telegraph Road, Ashland, VA 23005. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the facility, which includes offices and restrooms. This solicitation is set-aside for DSBSD-certified micro businesses or small businesses, including women-owned and minority-owned businesses.

Work Details

The contractor will provide daily janitorial services from Monday to Friday, starting no earlier than 2:30 PM and completing by 5:00 AM the following day. Services include: - Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms (sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning commodes and urinals, wiping mirrors, emptying waste receptacles) - Maintaining office areas (vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture, emptying wastebaskets) - Cleaning kitchenette areas (wiping down countertops and appliances) - Ensuring outside entrances are clean. The contractor must also manage trash disposal off-site as there is no dumpster available on the premises. All cleaning supplies will be provided by VDOT; however, the contractor must supply their own cleaning equipment.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence on July 1, 2026, or upon award if later, and will last for one year with potential for renewal.

The services will be performed at the VDOT Interstate Maintenance Trailer located at 10267 Telegraph Road, Ashland, VA 23005.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be DSBSD-certified micro businesses or small businesses to qualify for this solicitation. Additionally, all employees performing work under this contract must complete a Criminal History Records Check and obtain favorable security clearance prior to award. The contractor must also maintain specified insurance coverage including Workers’ Compensation and General Liability.
