Polyurethane Grout Pumping

Background

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB #160909) for Polyurethane Grout Pumping services. The purpose of this contract is to fill annular voids at a structure located in the Lynchburg District, specifically in Campbell County. This initiative aims to maintain the structural integrity of transportation infrastructure, ensuring safety and functionality.

Work Details

The contractor will perform Polyurethane Grout pumping to fill annular voids at Structure 118-501-1876 on Rt. 501 (Candlers Mountain Road). The work includes: - Pumping grout into the annular space between an existing pipe and a slip liner. - Sealing the ends of the pipe with 4,000 PSI grout upon completion. - Drilling 1-inch diameter holes every 10 feet at four locations (top, bottom, and each side) for grout injection. - Ensuring grout visibility at checkpoints before proceeding. - Managing a total of 2,500 cubic feet for the annular space. The culvert dimensions are 84 inches by 247 feet with a slip line of 69 inches pushed through. The contractor must also adhere to safety regulations regarding confined spaces and environmental protections due to E. coli impairment in the stream adjacent to the work site.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence from the date of award and conclude on September 28, 2026. All work must be completed by August 28, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Campbell County, Virginia, specifically at Structure 118-501-1876 on Rt. 501 (Candlers Mountain Road).

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a Small Business Subcontracting Plan (SBSP) if they are not certified as a small business by the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (DSBSD). A valid Virginia Contractor's License with H/H Specialty is required. Additionally, bidders must comply with insurance requirements including Workers’ Compensation and Commercial General Liability coverage.
