Background The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Intramural Research Program (IRP) is conducting state-of-the-art research on drug use and substance use disorders. The goal of this acquisition is to secure a service contract for the operation of a BBI-piPET-UHR positron emission tomography (PET) scanner, which is essential for high-quality imaging performance in research related to substance use disorders (SUD). This service aims to support the long-term objective of understanding biological and behavioral factors contributing to SUDs and developing better treatment strategies. Work Details The contractor shall provide the following services: 1. One annual Preventative Maintenance service call during the warranty extension period, including complete system re-calibration and mechanical evaluation. 2. Officially released software updates that do not require additional hardware or upgrades will be provided at no charge during the warranty period. 3. Diagnostic service and on-site field service as needed by a certified technician qualified to maintain the BBI-piPET-UHR PET scanner. 4. Telephone support and remote troubleshooting. 5. Equipment repair and replacement parts as needed, including emergency assessment and repair. 6. All parts and labor for onsite preventive maintenance from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. Specific requirements include: a) Preventive maintenance visits that include labor and travel, assessment of overall functionality, system re-calibration, software updates, and preventive replacement of working parts as necessary; b) Repair services with access to adequate parts stock or ability to obtain parts within 48 hours; c) All service must be warrantied for six months with replacement parts having at least a twelve-month warranty. Period of Performance Base Period: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027; Option Periods: July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2028; July 1, 2028 – June 30, 2029. Place of Performance The services will be performed at the Biomedical Research Center (BRC), located at 251 Bayview Boulevard, Suite 200, Baltimore, Maryland 21224.
