The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is seeking information from industry regarding innovative autonomous transportation capabilities for global operations. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to identify commercial solutions, technologies, and developmental roadmaps across all modes of transportation (air, land, sea, and multi-modal) for both passenger and cargo movements. Interested parties are encouraged to review the attached RFI for detailed submission instructions and information requirements. See RFI attachment for full details.
Background The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is conducting market research to identify commercial industry capabilities, innovations, and developmental roadmaps in the field of autonomous transportation. USTRANSCOM's mission involves globally integrated mobility operations, which require the movement of passengers and various dimensions of cargo across domestic and international domains. The Department of War (DoW) is exploring how autonomous and semi-autonomous systems can enhance future global mobility operations, focusing on safety, efficiency, velocity, and global reach. Work Details Respondents are encouraged to provide comprehensive overviews of their technologies structured around specific categories: 1. Company Profile - Include organization name, size, primary domain (air, sea, land), and a summary of commercial experience with autonomous or semi-autonomous logistics. 2. Current Autonomous Capabilities - Provide detailed descriptions of currently fielded autonomous platforms including payload capacities (passenger volume or cargo dimensions/weight), operational range, operating environments, and current Technology Readiness Level (TRL). 3. Developmental Roadmap - Overview of autonomous platforms in research and development with projected timelines for fielding, anticipated capabilities, and expected milestones over the next 3 to 10 years. 4. Scalability & Flexibility - Describe how solutions scale from small-scale movements to massive capacity lifts and detail the system's ability to handle dynamic routing and varying cargo dimensions. 5. Interoperability - Information on how the platform integrates with existing manual or automated logistics nodes, material handling equipment (MHE), and command/control networks. 6. Cybersecurity & Resilience - Approach to securing data links, navigation systems, and control mechanisms against cyber threats in contested environments. 7. Regulatory Navigation - Strategies regarding domestic and international regulatory compliance for unmanned or autonomous operations. Place of Performance The contract will be performed across various geographic locations as required by USTRANSCOM's global mobility operations.
