Description
Primary Latest Change

The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is seeking information from industry regarding innovative autonomous transportation capabilities for global operations. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to identify commercial solutions, technologies, and developmental roadmaps across all modes of transportation (air, land, sea, and multi-modal) for both passenger and cargo movements. Interested parties are encouraged to review the attached RFI for detailed submission instructions and information requirements. See RFI attachment for full details.

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is conducting market research to identify innovative autonomous transportation capabilities for global operations. USTRANSCOM leads the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) and is focused on enhancing safety, efficiency, velocity, and global reach in the movement of passengers and cargo across various domains. The Department of War (DoW) is exploring how autonomous systems can support future mobility operations. Work Details The RFI seeks information on commercial industry capabilities, innovations, and developmental roadmaps in autonomous transportation across all modes: air, land, sea, and multi-modal for both passenger and cargo movements. Respondents should provide detailed descriptions of currently fielded autonomous platforms including payload capacities, operational range, environments, and Technology Readiness Level (TRL). Additionally, information on platforms in research and development is requested along with projected timelines for fielding and expected milestones over the next 3 to 10 years. The RFI also asks for details on scalability from small-scale movements to large capacity lifts, interoperability with existing logistics nodes and equipment, cybersecurity measures against threats, and regulatory compliance strategies for unmanned operations.
