Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Fayetteville Coastal Healthcare System, is seeking to procure Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) chairs. The goal of this contract is to enhance patient care by providing specialized chairs that streamline workflow during swallow studies, thereby reducing the need for multiple patient transfers. Work Details The contract requires the delivery of three (3) Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) chairs. The chairs must meet or exceed the following salient characteristics: - Imaging Compatibility: Fully radiolucent backrest for unobstructed imaging. - Optimal Patient Positioning: 90-degree seat rotation and Fowler/backrest adjustments up to 90°. - Adjustability: Seat heights adjustable from 19" to 30" or 33", preferably with powered or hydraulic controls. - Safety Features: Patient safety straps, fold-away or swing-down armrests, and locking casters. - Portability & Compactness: Small base footprint with 5-inch casters for maneuverability in restricted spaces. - Hygiene & Maintenance: Surfaces made of easy-to-clean, antibacterial materials. - Battery Powered: Rechargeable battery with a charging system. The contractor is also responsible for installation and training on the equipment provided.
