2026 Outsourced Pavement Preservation Program CIP Maize Road - Thermal Crack & Patching

Background

The City of Wichita is seeking bids for the 2026 Outsourced Pavement Preservation Program, specifically for construction services related to the Thermal Crack & Patching on Maize Road. The Public Works & Utilities Department aims to enhance the infrastructure and ensure safe road conditions for the community.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services: 1. Mobilization (1 LS); 2. Traffic Control (1 LS); 3. Partial Depth Asphalt Repair (BM-2)(PG64-22) - 100 TN; 4. Full Depth Asphalt Repair (BM-2)(PG64-22) - 165 TN; 5. Thermal Crack Repair (Heavy Duty - 5.0' Wide) - 4,082 LF. The work includes milling and replacing asphalt, cleaning milled surfaces, applying tack oil, and installing knitted fiberglass reinforcement as part of thermal crack repairs. All materials must conform to City specifications, including specific asphalt grades and compaction requirements.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to commence within 20 calendar days after contract award and must be completed within 35 working days from the start date.

Place of Performance

The project will take place at various locations along Maize Road in Wichita, Kansas.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of three years' experience in similar services, be registered with the Kansas Secretary of State's Office before contract execution, and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. They must also provide project supervision and quality control procedures, possess necessary materials and equipment, and have capacity for required bonds and insurance.
