East Orange Food Service 2026-2027

Background

The East Orange Board of Education is seeking proposals for a Food Service Management Services contract for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity is open to contractors who can provide comprehensive food service management to the school district. The goal is to meet the nutritional needs of students while adhering to budgetary constraints and regulatory requirements.

Work Details

The selected Food Service Management Company (FSMC) will be responsible for managing the School Food Authority's (SFA) food service program, which includes: - National School Lunch Program (NSLP) - School Breakfast Program (SBP) - After School Snack Program (ASSP) - Special Milk Program (SMP) - Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The FSMC must comply with USDA regulations and guidelines, provide management services, and ensure that all food meets specified quality standards. The FSMC will also be required to submit various forms including a Response and Projected Operating Statement, Non-Collusion Affidavit, and Affirmative Action Compliance Notice.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2027. There are options for up to four one-year renewals based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at various locations within the East Orange School District in New Jersey.

Bidder Requirements

Proposers must be registered with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture Division of Food and Nutrition. They must submit a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate along with their proposal. Additionally, vendors listed on the State Treasurer’s or Federal Government’s List of Debarred, Suspended, or Disqualified Vendors are ineligible to submit proposals.
