The Midland Independent School District (MISD) is seeking proposals for Construction Management-At-Risk (CMAR) services as part of its 2023 Bond Program. The goal of this contract is to facilitate renovations to seven elementary schools and the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA), ensuring compliance with safety and accessibility standards while enhancing educational facilities.
The CMAR will be responsible for a range of services including but not limited to: 1. Pre-Construction Services: - Cost estimating based on design documents. - Development of project schedules and management plans. - Coordination with architects and stakeholders during design phases. - Bidding and procurement of subcontractors. 2. Construction Services: - General construction management including scheduling, administration, and on-site supervision. - Installation of new sprinkler systems, ceilings, lighting, T.A.S. access compliance, restroom upgrades, plumbing upgrades, fire alarm upgrades, and other maintenance tasks across the schools. Specific renovations include:
New sprinkler system, ceilings, lighting, bathroom upgrades, plumbing replacements.
Similar scope as Bowie with additional fire lane access.
Upgrades to bathrooms for T.A.S compliance and fire alarm systems.
Installation of new systems similar to previous schools.
Focus on maintenance items alongside system installations.
Fire Department access drive installation along with system upgrades.
The contract period is expected to commence with a Notice to Proceed on January 29, 2027, and reach substantial completion by July 21, 2028.
All work will be performed at various locations within the Midland Independent School District in Midland, Texas.
Proposers must demonstrate adequate financial resources and experience in similar projects. They are required to provide a Letter of Intent for Performance and Payment Bonds from their bonding company. Additionally, all employees working on school property must pass criminal history background checks as per Texas Education Code requirements.
