Background

The City of Lubbock, through its Community Development department, is seeking bids for a minor rehabilitation project for a single-family residential home. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary repairs and improvements to ensure the home meets safety and livability standards. This project is part of the city's efforts to enhance community living conditions.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. General Requirements: All materials must be in good usable condition and installed per manufacturer's specifications. Licensed contractors must be registered with the City of Lubbock and obtain necessary permits. 2. Exterior Repairs:

Roof Replacement

Remove existing roofing down to decking, replace damaged decking (up to 200 SF), install new shingles selected by the homeowner, and ensure proper sealing and flashing.

Tree Limbs

Remove tree limbs extending over the roof line within specified distances.

Fascia and Soffit

Remove and replace existing fascia and soffit with fiber cement-based materials, ensuring proper fit and finish.

Front Entry Door

Remove existing door, install a new insulated fiberglass door with specified hardware, and repaint trim to match existing colors.

Storm Door

Reinstall existing storm door.

Period of Performance

The work must commence within 2 weeks from the date of the Notice to Proceed and be completed no later than 8 weeks from the start date.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at 1904 38th St, Lubbock, TX 79412.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with various certifications including Conflict of Interest Questionnaire, Non-Collusion Affidavit, Suspension and Debarment Certification, and provide proof of insurance as specified in the solicitation documents. Additionally, contractors must adhere to lead-safe work practices due to potential lead-based paint hazards.
