SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions. You are invited to submit a firm fixed price proposal in accordance with Line Items in Section B of this RFP and the proposal preparation requirements and other applicable provided documents. Background The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy, is seeking proposals for the manufacture and delivery of Photon Stopper Holders as part of the LCLS-II-HE project. This project aims to upgrade the existing Linac Coherent Light Source II to enhance its capabilities. The Photon Stoppers are critical components designed to absorb the Free Electron Laser (FEL) beam and are integral to the Personal Protection System (PPS). The contract is not subject to Federal Acquisition Regulations but must comply with certain Federal laws and regulations. Work Details The contractor will manufacture and deliver twelve (12) units of the LCLS-II-HE Stopper Holder based on SLAC drawing number DSG-000086549. Each Photon Stopper Holder must meet specific design requirements for safety systems as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW). Key deliverables include: - Manufacture and assembly of components necessary for twelve (12) units. - Compliance with SLAC Vacuum Level 1 requirements. - Hydrostatic testing and final acceptance testing at SLAC. Additional options include manufacturing yield units upon request, which may be ordered in quantities ranging from one (1) to four (4). The subcontractor is responsible for all fabrication processes except those explicitly excluded, such as procurement of certain materials by SLAC. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the subcontractor's facility with final acceptance testing conducted at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
