Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to procure and install window tint material at their facility located at 8000 Metropolis Dr., Bldg. B, Austin, TX 78744. The goal of this contract is to enhance occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and safety by reducing solar glare, minimizing heat buildup, and blocking harmful UV rays. The current windows provide inadequate solar and UV protection, necessitating this acquisition. Work Details The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to furnish and install commercial-grade dual-reflective window tint at the VA facility. The installation will cover three building zones: roof windows (60 units), corner windows (16 units), and front windows (140 units), totaling approximately 216 windowpanes and 2,334 square feet of tint coverage. The contractor must ensure that all window tint is properly fitted and trimmed to each window's specific dimensions. The minimum performance criteria for the window tint include: - Solar Heat Rejection ≥70% - UV Rejection ≥99% - Glare Reduction ≥70% - Visible Light Transmission between 10%-20% - Interior Reflectivity ≤25% - Exterior Reflectivity ≥40% with a minimum warranty of 10 years. Installation must comply with manufacturer's instructions and industry standards. Period of Performance The contractor shall complete all work within 90 calendar days after receipt of the contract award.
