Background The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), part of the Department of the Interior, serves as a branch of the state education agency for several elementary and secondary schools on the Navajo Reservation. This contract aims to provide Speech/Language Therapy Services to assist schools in implementing special education services as mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA). The goal is to improve academic achievement for students with disabilities and ensure accountability in educational outcomes. Work Details The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to provide Speech/Language Therapy Services at Tohaali Community School. Key tasks include: 1. Evaluating and screening students for Speech/Language evaluations; 2. Preparing comprehensive evaluation reports; 3. Conducting Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings; 4. Providing standardized testing instruments; 5. Delivering direct therapy services in small groups or individually; 6. Generating schedules in coordination with school staff; 7. Offering in-service training for Special Education staff; 8. Providing training on augmented language and assistive technology; 9. Maintaining compliance with federal mandates and BIE policies; 10. Keeping clinical service notes and student files.
